A is the first letter of the English alphabet.

A is used for the representation of the number 1010 in hexadecimal.

A is for apple, and asshole. Interestingly, although apples are never referred to as A-les, assholes are frequently desbribed as A-holes.

The U.S. is also of A. If there is a subtle joke here, I'm missing it.

A is also a musical note, called "la" in the key of C. The "A" above middle C is tuned to 440 Hz. Anyone who tells you this A is 444Hz or 432 Hz is a heretic and should be reported to the proper Authorities immediately.
