It's that time of the {{time period}} again! Yes, it's "Screw up CP by copy-pasting hundreds of obscure and overly technical articles!" time! Hooray!
Scheduled to start on Friday, September 28 (or Friday, September 29 for Team Airborne...), the contest is going to totally remove the last shred of remaining collaborative spirit as people simply think of their own scores.
The contest's main page is cp:Contest - apparently, Andy kinda gave up on the whole "secret namespace" idea, considering how pretty much everybody managed to look into those, anyway.

[edit] Scoring
As usual, the scoring system puts heavy weight on creating articles, especially since copy-pasting is explicitly allowed (as long as the source site ends in ".gov"). A good article gives 10 points, any other article 6 points. Editing gives 2-4 points only.
The exception are sports-related entries, which only give 2-4 points for creation and 1-2 points for editing. There has been a suggestion to apply this rule to all sorts of minor entertainment stuff.
Additionally, 3 extra points are given if the newly created entry was on the Most Wanted list.
There are more rules about creating links and stuff, but those appear to be relatively harmless. You can read them on CP's contest page if you like.
[edit] How the system invites abuse
Just like last time, everything points at rabid copy-pasting from Government glossaries. Ironically enough, the "3 extra points for Most Wanted" rule encourages this behavior.
The key is template/navbox abuse (alternatively, the "See Also" section can be used, but that's kinda more work).
Just create a navbox template with all the entries from the glossary (for example, the last contest had many geology-related things, so those could've had a "Geology Terms" box). In the best case, they'll all be red links.
Next, slap that template on all articles from that field. After the fifth one, all remaining red links will appear in the Most Wanted list and give you 3 extra points each. So copying a glossary with x new entries would give (5*6)+((x-5)*(6+3)) points. In numbers, a glossary with 30 items would be worth 255 points - that's 75 points more than not using the template!
In fact, this advice was promptly made of use of in the following contest. User SSchultz created a massive template of USDA terms, copy-pasted to create a hundred or so new articles, and made an additional 303 bonus points!
Andy - captain of the opposing team - was not amused.
[edit] Awesome logos for the teams!
Not to be dimmed in their self-aggrandisement, check out the logos these teams have posted on their pages:
