Conservapedia:Foxtrot

Foxtrot is one of the "sysops lite"; he can block, edit after hours and upload pictures.

He believes that Obama is an abomination who will turn the wonderful land of the United States into something unrecognizable. Foxtrot thinks The United States will become Marxist, Socialist, Atheist, Anti-Christian, and Homo-loving. He thinks under Obama the United States will even become even more liberal. He's a Christian but for him Christianity doesn't include sharing the good things that the United States has with immigrants. [1]

Despite all that Foxtrot occasionally looks just that bit more sensible than many Conservapedians. Unfortunately he is not. It remains a strong possibility that he is one of Conservapedia's many parodists.

Foxtrot appears to have left the site, not having edited since April 2009, but his admin abilities have not been removed, as has happened with some other inactive sysops.

[edit] Foxtrot the mathematician

Foxtrot appears to do all the work "mathematics teacher"[2] Ed Poor says he can't be bothered doing. The obvious question is what are Foxtrots qualifications? On his userpage he has this to say about mathematics,

I have a background in mathematics, because I find that its ubiquity in the world is evidence of God's marvelous design of the world. Most of my contributions have been to math and logic articles, but lately I've also been contributing to general knowledge articles too.

A background in mathematics is nice but even people who have degrees in mathematics will have little or no exposure to some fields. Foxtrot seems obsessed with topology and axiomatic set theory. So lets turn to his user boxes.

This user has expertise in research and statistics.

Statistics is a very big field and it can often be an entire degree by itself, so there is no reason to take topology other than as an elective.

This user loves problem solving.

Not helpful. Well right down the bottom we find,

This user has a Ph.D. in awesome and scoffs at non-awesome explanations for awesome phenomena.

This is typical of Conservapedia weird anti-intellectualism. On the one hand they say they don't drive away experts but on the other they accuse anyone who has a degree of credential bullying when they disagree with them. Here we see someone reveling in their own low qualifications, it is hard to take them seriously.

However Foxtrot has done some well intentioned work. He has a list of basic mathematics articles that Conservapedia is missing and crosses them off as he writes them. However he does seem to be a little out of his depth on certain topics.
