Conservapedia:Business Plan
From RationalWiki
Human once asked Andrew Schlafly what the conservapedia business plan was on his talk page[1], but it was archived before Andy had a chance to clarify things[2].
The topic had started off with accusations of a conspiracy between the Wikipedia and Google to pwn teh internets. Someone pointed out that Wikipedia was a "dot org", implying a general non-profit approach, whereas Conservapedia is a "dot com" - implying a for-profit structure.
Human then asked what the long term financial plans were to keep Conservapedia running, after its popularity increases by an order or two of magnitude.[3] He assumed that at this point, Andy was probably paying the bills out of pocket, but was concerned that bandwidth can get expensive on a highly trafficked site.
Will the Eagle Forum be kicking in? (Mom likes Andy!)
Or, perhaps, Unplanned Parenthood? (there's a lot of money in the baby industry)
Inquiring minds want to know.
