Conservapedia:Acolyte
From RationalWiki
An Acolyte is a rank within the Christian church, performing dramatic and important duties such as lighting altar candles. Other than that, it is occasionally used in fantasy games, possibly because it's a cool sounding word.
[edit] On Conservapedia
Recently, the term has been used to describe members of Conservapedia. The use of the word in this sense was originally used by Professor Richard Lenski due to his almost overuse of the term (9 times) in his second response to Andrew Schlafly's demands for more data regarding his experiment. After this fact was picked up on, overusing the word "acolyte" became a small internet meme, appearing in all of two blog entries. The term has been slowly growing to become the label of choice for Conservapedians, and specifically to those who unquestioningly support their great leader.
